birthday eats...

in celebration of my eating out pretty much every day this week, i'm going to present my personal "best" list of restaurants and eats in toronto.

best overpriced restaurant: susur's
best middle priced restaurant: bairrada churrasqueira
best low price restaurant: nando's chicken
best cheap eats: the truck near nathan phillips square
best sandwich: california sandwiches
best brunch: mitzi's cafe
best pub/bar food: rebel house
best atmosphere: north 44 or rain
best chinese: "tsung tsung", chicken and noodle house (something like that, in the strip mall in front of dragon centre)
best korean: joon's (ie. my 2nd kitchen)
best japanese: kaji sushi (but can also fit under overpriced restaurant category)
best italian: grazie's
best greek: papa's grill
best thai: salad king
best middle eastern: red & white
best slice: massimo's

still up for grabs and in desperate need of somewhere to fill it:

disney world fiasco...

did anyone else hear that story about tigger "punching" someone at disneyworld and it was caught on tape? the video shows that... tigger is clearly just trying to get this rowdy teenagers arm out of his armpit. this alleged "punch" was clearly the disney world employee just trying to protect himself.

the family of the boy (who seems to be about 17) is crying foul and demanding an apology from everyone. the father is most upset that tigger himself (or the employee who was in the tigger costume) hasn't come and apologized.

to me, this epitomizes american dumbassness. it's clearly a small little incident that's blown way out of proportion and it's a family that has nothing better to do than seize an opportunity to get on tv. it's absolutely ridiculous.

on a side note, school starts tomorrow and i've had an unbelievably unproductive last few days of holiday. didn't end up going to montreal. didn't end up doing much of anything. part of it was battling this annoying cold, but i have to say i was just being a lazy ass and really... regretting it.

oh well, real life starts again, and it's arguably going to be the busiest time of my life yet, so i'm in for a whirlwind ride.

oh yeah, i'm also broken. my ankle hurts. my foot hurts. my knee hurts. my right deltoid has been killing for a few weeks. my sports medicine doc i'm seeing this wednesday has his work cut out for him.
