oscars, movies and the weekend...
so pretty much every plan i wanted to do this weekend did not happen.
1) i never got to see the passion. ended up playing texas hold 'em poker instead. next weekend, i will see the passion, even if i have to see it myself.
2) never got to play golf. tam o' shanter is NOT open for business this winter, that was last winter. and even the outdoor driving ranges weren't open. boo.
ah well, it was still an okay weekend i guess, only because there was next to no work that needed to be done and i'm very happy about that.
the oscars are tonight and you heard it here first, the winners:
best supporting actor: tim robbins
best supporting actress: renee zellweger
best actor: sean penn
best actress: charlize theron
best director: peter jackson
best foreign film: the barbarian invasions (yay canada!)
best score: howard shore (yay canada! yay toronto!)
best film: the lord of the rings: the return of the king

why why why...
why is it that it's the wednesday of MY reading week and i'm sitting here at my computer in the room of my apartment worried that i won't have enough time to finish my homework? granted it's probably called reading week for a reason, but still, i don't want to be feeling guilty for having fun during my time off. my goal.... my goal is to finish learning separation processes and start learning economics tonight. that'll leave reaction kinetics and process control for the weekend. sigh, i know better than anyone i'm not going to accomplish that goal... there's to much fun to be had.
on a completely unrelated side note. BRI, i'm so sorry dude. i can't help but feel bad. don't worry, things will work out in the end.

university kiddies...
"yo man, me and you, we can design a kick ass engine. the engine they have now, that's like 50 years old. i'm SURE we can make a better one. it's easy man, it's so easy."
after hearing this today, i came to the absolute realization that first year engineering students are now way too young.

on a sports team, everyone loves a player who brings his A game everynight. but it's the clutch players who really stand out. its the derek jeters, patrick roys and michael jordans of the world.
they step up when they're needed most.

what i need...
in order to get me out of this rut, i need something spectacular to happen to me. winning the lottery, someone telling me i've made it med school without applying, someone telling me i've won the nobel prize... i'd consider all those things pretty spectacular.
but i guess (i GUESS) i can't be that ambitious. seriously though, something great, surprising and exciting needs to happen to me and i think it'll just get me going once again. something along the lines of... a scholarship froms school. the girl of my dreams at the next party i go to.
or maybe, someone just needs to kick me in the ass real hard.
