the ENTJ...

seeing vanessa's post on the meyer's briggs personality profile made me dig up my booklet on ENTJs, the personality type i am. how this works is that i answered 200+ questions and it told me things about myself. a lot of companies use this test as a group learning and development exercise.

i'd like to share with you some things the booklet says about me (the whole book is like 50 pages long). it's impressively accurate...

the summary of ENTJs:
Believe they were born to lead. Desire to take charge and organize thoe around them. Well-informed, decisive, accumulate knowledge. May be more positive and confident than experience warrants. Global perspective, see things long-range, tough when appropriate. Great strategists and builders of organizations. Can be arrogant, critical and intimidating. High expectations for themselves and others.

Random excerpts from the book about ENTJs:
ENTJs are perhaps the most self-confident of the 16 psychological types. They enjoy taking charge and being in charge. The ease with which they do it makes them seem like they are born to lead. They are big picture people who prefer to leave details, routines and specifics to other while they move on to even bigger things.

ENTJs are usually good at anything that requires reasoning and intelligence. Only logical reasoning convinces them. They will attempt to master anything they find intriguing and enjoy the challenge of working to solve complex problems. Achieving competence is extremely important to them and is a primary motivator in all they do.
i'm definately more scientific and logic based...

ENTJs do thier best creative work when they are on their own. They then use their deductive reasoning abilities to reinforce their creative intuitions. They need to analyze, critique, organize and systemize their ideas or theories before they present them.
notice i almost always study by myself?

Although ENTJs are extraverts, they do not appear as extreme as with some other extraverted types. They tend to talk quickly and expressively and prefer others to do the same. They are impatient with long explanations, and want you to get to the bottom line. ENTJs will sometimes finish your sentence if you take too long to do it yourself.
this is sooo true... i am very impatient with people who ramble

They will discuss any subject with vigour and not be personally hurt or affected by what is said. Unfortunately, other types who are less expressive of their opinions often misinterpret ENTJs enthusiasm and directness as anger. They are not angry, simply impassioned.
see, i'm not angry! i'm just.. an ENTJ...

ENTJs quickly lose respect for people who refuse to engage them or are intimidated by them. They think highly of those who challenge them intellectually, emotionally, or in any other way. This can be a catch 22 because ENTJs can be so unaware of their arrogance that they don't realize the impact it has on others or how intimidating it can be.
*ahem* lose respect for people who are intimidated by them. ian wong anyone?

ENTJs are one of the most impatient of all the types. Their impatience may show itself in the form of a quick temper, inappropriate complaints over relatively small matters, and an urgency to move onto bigger and better things.
this is.. unfortunately, also true...

ENTJs learn best when they judge their teacher to be competent and well organized. They are very self-directed stuents who learn best through a variety of instructional methods, including lectures and group activities. Because of their objectivity, ENTJs are often great debaters. Seeing things from many different perspectives, they can debate from any side of the argument. They are comfortable with the intellectual conflict that arises from debate.

yet another pet peeve...

people who use MSN as their method of expressing their undying love for their significant others. if you want to wish them a happy anniversary or a happy birthday or whatever, send them a message. there's no need to announce it to the world.

John Doe --> Happy 4 week anniversary honey!!! I love you!!
Jane Doe --> Happy 3 month first kiss anniversary sweetie!! WoAyNee!!!
Karen Doe --> I miss you honey!!! *hugz* *kisses*

oh man.. if you're one of these people, no apologies, it's the truth, it annoys me.

the dreaded lull...

n.

1. A relatively calm interval, as in a storm.
2. An interval of lessened activity

the fear: having all the time in the world, but nothing to accomplish with it.
the result: a day without a care in the world.
the frequency: can't remember it ever happening for at least 5-6 years.

for someone like me, who is always on the go, always loves to have something on his plate, (can you say type A personality?), today has indeed been quite different.

it hasn't been bad though -- i've enjoyed this day. soon enough, it'll be back to the old ways.
