FREEEEEEEEEEEEEdom...

school's over and it feels FANTASTIC. i'm only one year away from graduating with my first university degree and it definately feels a bit weird.

last night was the annual freedom engineering party and as usual, i had a blast. even the fact that the venue was WAY too small (red square, duncan and richmond), the organizers were clearly not prepped (not enough hangers for coat check!!!), drinks that were supposed to be $3.50 (ended up being 3.50 for only domestic beers and crazy high prices for everything else), didn't stop me from having a great time.

i also got in a round of golf in 2 degree weather. i love golf and all, but golf while it's snowing (there were some very light flurries) and strong wind is too much even for me. despite that, i still netted a birdie on a par 4, which really was awesome. hit a drive in the fairway, used an 8 iron from about 130yds to within 4 feet of the hole, and drained the birdie putt.

this summer is gonna be great: softball, hockey, basketball along with what should be very interesting lab work. i'm really excited and i'm really going to try to take advantage of no school. i've got a few more days before work starts and i'm gonna try to enjoy it.

YAY!

you know you're good when...

as i was watching the denver/minnesota game last night, i couldn't help but feel that garnett was having an off night. he was missing easy looks inside and open jumpers. BUT, at the end of the night, garnett's "off night" turned out to be: 20 pts, 22 rebounds, 10 assists, 3 blks. he's just too good.

1 strike and you're out...

to tell this story, i have to admit that i watch the show the OC. so there it is, i watch the OC. monday's episode was about how one of the characters (theresa) gets beaten by her boyfriend.

i wonder what the mindframe of people are about the subject of hitting your wife/significant other. obviously, the stance of everyone is: you shouldn't do it. but the prevelant stance on abuse is that one time is too many times.

say you've been with your wife for 20 years with no problems at all. if one day, you get into a huge argument and in the heat of the moment you hit her, is that one time too many times? should the wife just leave the husband with no possibility for forgiveness?

i think most people will agree that TWO times is WAY too many times. but i wonder if people feel the same way about one time, especially in a circumstance such as the one mentioned above...

one more year...

well, i'm finally (almost) done my third year in university and i have to say that it couldnt' have come any sooner. i'm so glad that lectures and tutorials are over because the past 4 months have been extremely difficult. i felt as if i was trying to run at top speed through the sand: even though i was trying my best, i wasn't getting anywhere fast. i feel tired and worn out. i'm going to take advantage of the next few days and catch up on some R&R before going through the final stretch... exams.
